Photos were taken as an extra credit for this class. After several shots not only did it became enjoyable, but I started to see everyday things within my surroundings in a different light. The things we take for granted now had a new meaning and look. I was able to find beauty in almost anything, as ugly as it might have been. Through the lens the world looks really different.
Usage of a digital camera did take away from the experience of making my own traditional silver prints in the darkroom. Although it was much quicker, it did not give you that wave of achievement, that comes over you when you make a perfect print in the darkroom.
Taking photos is something you have to be very passionate about, not only do you have to be patient, but also alert as you never know when you might see that perfect shot.
